![]() If you just bought a 3090 Ti, this one's going to sting more than a little. Originally posted by mynicknametaken:i have a gtx980ti and i play at 1440p buti dont do pvp, i dont have high enough frame rates for pvp as my frames can drop as low as 20.Let's pause for a moment while you check through those charts - there are nine in total, so don't just look at the overall average! But if you do just check the average, you'll see that the RTX 4090 provides a massive 55% improvement over the RTX 3090 Ti that launched six months ago. Should have put the cash into a GPU dude, that monitor is wasted on that hardware. In the case of 20fps then your 144hz monitor is refreshing about 6 times before it gets a new image (frame) from the gpu.įPS and hz should match or there will be "stutter" as the monitor only gets a new image every few refreshes, so 60fps on a 60hz, 144fps on a 144hz, 240fps on a 240hz etc If you get 60-70fps then a 60hz display is fine. Thats what things like G-sync are for, it ties your monitors hz to your current fps to get rid of the disconnect. Or V-sync before it that just limited to 60 fps as most monitors were 60hz short more resolution = more pixels = sharper, more detailed image. Just like how 4k is sharper than 1080 (HD vs UHD). 1440p is a bit of a middle ground between the two. Resolution should match your monitor resolution. Then its can your hardware drive 1440p? (resolution is one of the hardest hitting performance settings in games) So the first question is does your monitor support 1440p? If you have a 1080p screen then 1920x1080 is the best quality you will get, if you have a 1440p screen then you can run 2560x1440 as your top quality setting etc. I built my pc in early 2016, there was no better GPU back then. I didnt have any monitor back then but i had a huge sony tv with very little input lag so i used it as a monitor. I got a great deal on it, it was discounted by a huge deal because it supposedly had a scratch somewhere (never found it), its also a TN screen (i dont see a difference so why pay more) and its a fairly small monitor, but most importantly it has the GSYNC technology. ![]() Unfortunately, it doesnt seem to work with Arma engine because i still get frame rips in both Arma 3 and DayZ.If you have a good PC, you can increase the settings slightly.
